One cool and unexpected thing about Washington DC

Fireflies!

I hadn't seen fireflies since I was a little kid. My kids hadn't ever seen them before! I am loving seeing them every evening. Well, they weren't out the evening it was raining. They don't want to get shocked, after all. ;-)

Oh, I love fireflies! I wish we had them here. I had never seen fireflies until I visited Ohio for the first time a few years ago. They were magical!

I've only seen them once, in Kentucky, and I was an adult! How fun.

And, I told Presbytera Lisa to give you a hug from me, would you return the favor to her?

Rhys was in DC with Grammy a few weeks back; he, too, loved the fireflies. He accidentally caught one a little ungently and discovered that firefly goo glows too. (Mom said he cried for some time after that.)

Also: visiting the National Archives. We now have large copies of the "Charters of Freedom" to hang on our wall next to the periodic and multiplication tables.

Jennifer--they are magical! I just love seeing them.

Mimi-Lisa and I have connected several times and yes, we exchanged your hug! ;-)

Molly--oh, about the squished firefly, that's really too bad (and pretty disgusting, too!). Poor little Rhys.

Awesome, thanks!

I love fire flies, too. They totally make me laugh at the idea of God as an engineer type. He could have made reproduction so boring, and too the point. Instead he made song birds and fireflies. If He is any type He is an experimental artist type, just doing things that are fun.
